This might be my new favorite blog. Well not really, but it does have some endearing qualities. I believe it also pertains to a good number of Kansas City football fans. StraightCashHomey.net is a blog dedicated to posting pictures of people wearing out of date jerseys.
It’s actually quite the awesome combination of one of my favorite sports-related quotes and my favorite past-time when I’m out at a game, bar or the like. When I make my once a year trip out to Arrowhead, I generally spend half my time in the stadium looking for the stellar personalized or way too crappy jerseys. We’ll ignore the fact that you wasted your hard earned money on an Elvis Grbac jersey, but why the fuck do you keep wearing it to the stadium ten years down the line? I don’t think he’s going up on the Ring of Fame, bro.
It all takes me back to the trip we made to St Louis for my bachelor party. Aside from all-nude clubs, one of the things that took us there was that the Chiefs were playing the Rams for the Governor’s Cup. We hit up a bar before trying to find some tickets and I came across a lovely gentleman in a Chiefs Dawson jersey. Awesome right? Well maybe if it was Len. Unfortunately it wasn’t. And judging from dude’s skin tone, it wasn’t Lake who was wearing it either.
